What time is check-in and check-out?

Check in begins at 3:00pm. Timing is not guaranteed due to occupancy and availability of room types. Check out is 11:00am. When possible, The Richland is happy to accommodate early check-in or late check-out based on availability.

How far in advance can I book my stay, and how do I book?

We are currently booking on a rolling basis of 3 months in advance. You may check availability, pricing, and book your stay on our website here, or you may call our front desk at 714.942.6110.

What amenities are included?

  • Wireless internet access in-room and in all public spaces
  • DirectTV, including HBO and ESPN channels
  • Chapman Crafted Coffee and house-made pastries served Friday – Sunday from 8:00am – 10:00am
  • Seasonal non-alcoholic welcome cocktail and 2 water bottles included in-room
  • Luxury bath products from Cowshed provided in-room

What is your payment and cancellation policy?

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total room charge, plus applicable taxes and fees, is due at the time of booking. Final payment is due at check-in. Cancellations are subject to forfeiture of paid deposit amount. Cancellations made within 24 hours of arrival will be charged in full, including all applicable taxes.

DO YOU PROVIDE HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES?

Housekeeping services will take place every two days during your stay, unless otherwise requested. Should you require housekeeping sooner, please contact the front desk to schedule.

Are you pet friendly?

Except for service animals, pets are not permitted on property at any time.

WHAT ARE THE PARKING OPTIONS?

Complimentary on-site overnight parking is available to hotel guests. We offer (1) overnight parking space per room, or (2) parking spaces for The Cottage. Should you require more than one parking space per room, please contact us for availability.

Parking spaces are available at 3:00pm the first day of your stay and you may remain in the designated space until check-out. Vehicles must be removed at check-out, or by 11:00am, unless otherwise approved by The Richland Management.

To see additional parking locations nearby, visit the front desk for a parking map. Public parking lots are located within a 5-minute walking distance, including a large structure on Lemon Street & Maple Avenue.

Do any hotel rooms have ADA accessibility?

Yes, The Richland offers (2) ADA King rooms (double occupancy) located on the first floor. A lift is available for access to The Living Room Bar & Lounge. There is no elevator to the second-floor accommodations in the 1906 home.

Is smoking allowed?

The Richland is committed to providing guests a smoke-free environment. Smoking, including vaping, is prohibited throughout the property and in all accommodations, including balconies, patios, and the courtyard. Additionally, burning of candles in guest rooms is not permitted.

What is the Guest Conduct Policy?

The Richland requires appropriate and respectful interactions between our guests and employees. At our discretion, The Richland reserves the right to trespass anyone exhibiting behavior that is inconsistent with The Richland’s behavior standards, including:

  • Unruly behavior, threatening or obscene gestures, fighting or violence.
  • Derogatory and threatening language about race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, national origin, pregnancy, or other legal protected classifications.
  • Possession of a weapon except with The Richland’s prior knowledge and consent.
  • Stealing, damaging, or misusing any property.
  • Possession or use of illegal drugs or over-intoxication.
  • Creating excessive noise. Radios, televisions, stereos, etc. must be kept to a minimum.
  • Conducting activities that interfere with the use and enjoyment of The Richland for guests.
  • Storing illegal or flammable materials in any accommodation.
  • Creating unsightly conditions in or around the property. Unsightly conditions include but are not limited to: hanging of towels, clothing, equipment, etc. from balconies or patios.

Are there further hotel room policies to keep in mind?

Please refer to the complete Terms & Conditions upon booking your hotel room. Below are some friendly reminders:

  • The Richland may be booked for a private event during your stay, causing standard hotel operations and access to be altered. Certain areas of The Richland may be closed for private use. Please ask hotel staff for more information.
  • The Living Room Bar & Lounge is reserved for private event use.
  • In the main building, hotel rooms located on the 2nd floor & Attic are accessible by staircase only, as there is no elevator on-site. The Living Room Bar & Lounge is located on the1st floor, and you may enter from the front door. Guests in a wheelchair may use the ADA lift to access the 1st floor.
  • Registered guests must be 21 years old to check in.

 

Private Event FAQ

WHAT IS INCLUDED AT THE RICHLAND?

Your venue fee will secure exclusive use of the Estelle Ballroom, Porte-Cochere, and Living Room Bar & Lounge for the duration of your event.

The following rentals are available complimentary: (180) bentwood fruitwood chairs, (20) 60” rounds, (5) 6’x30” tables, (5) 8’x30” tables, (4) low 36” cocktail tables, (4) high 30” cocktail tables, (2) 6’ wood bars, and (1) half round sweetheart table.

A Getting Ready Room is available beginning at 10:00am the day of your event until the event end time.

Security during your event and cleaning of the event space is also included with the venue fee.

WHAT IS A BUYOUT?

For the ultimate experience, a property buyout provides you with exclusive access to the entire property, including all hotel rooms, and the Living Room Bar & Lounge.

A buyout is available for one weeknight only, or the weekend (Friday & Saturday night).

WHAT IS THE COST TO HOST MY EVENT AT THE RICHLAND?

In addition to your venue fee, 24 Carrots provides catering & bar service, staffing, and additional rentals such as tableware (china, flatware, glassware), and table linens. 24 Carrots pricing fluctuates based on various factors, including your choice of menu, service style such as plated or buffet, bar package, length of event, and guest count. Typical pricing starts around $200 per person + the venue fee.

WHAT IS THE CAPACITY?

Our main event room, The Estelle Ballroom, seats up to 150. Please contact your representative to discuss capacity for your event.

WHERE CAN MY GUESTS AND VENDORS PARK?

All parking is off-site in nearby public parking lots, structures, and street parking. Please ask your representative for a map. Guests and vendors are responsible for adhering to all posted parking signage and City laws. Overnight hotel guests are permitted to park in the private lot in the (1) designated parking space per room.

Vendors may unload from the parking lot or Maple Street only during their designated load-in time window.

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL FLOW AND TIMEFRAME FOR A WEDDING?

A traditional wedding format begins with ceremony at 4:00pm in the Estelle Ballroom, if your ceremony is taking place on-site. Guests are invited to enjoy cocktail hour in the Porte Cochere until 5:30pm, while our staff transforms the ballroom into your reception space. Once complete, guests are invited back into the ballroom for dinner and dancing until 10:00pm. If your ceremony is taking place off-site, the ballroom will be preset and ready for your reception upon arrival.

IS THERE A CURFEW?

The latest your event end time may be extended to is Sunday – Thursday 11:00pm and Friday – Saturday 12:00am. All outdoor activity must end at 10:00pm every day of the week.

WHEN CAN EVENT SET-UP AND LOAD-IN BEGIN?

Access to the Estelle Ballroom may begin 3 hours prior to your event start time. For a typical wedding starting at 4:00pm, this would be 1:00pm. Linens are managed by 24 Carrots staff and will be placed on tables 2 hours prior to the event start time.

CAN I BRING DÉCOR EARLIER OR LEAVE ITEMS OVERNIGHT?

Décor and personal belongings may not be left on property the day prior or following your event. At the conclusion of your event, 1 hour will be allocated for breakdown and strike. The event space must be completely cleared and all vendors off-site 1 hour following the event end time.

WHEN IS CHECK-IN ON THE DAY OF MY WEDDING?

Check-in begins at 3:00pm the day of your event. Check-out is at 11:00am the following day.

IS A WEDDING COORDINATOR OR PLANNER REQUIRED?

Yes! Your coordinator or planner will be the liaison between you and all vendors the day of your event, while managing your timeline, personal items, décor, and vendor details. Your coordinator must provide general liability insurance as required in the Venue Rental Contract.

ARE ANY OTHER VENDORS REQUIRED?

N-Effect Productions is the exclusive provider of DJ and A/V equipment at The Richland, to ensure we comply with city noise ordinances due to the proximity of our neighbors.

CAN I BRING IN OTHER VENDORS?

You may directly book your desired florist, event designer, photographer, videographer, photo booth, officiant, wedding cake, and specialty dessert. Every vendor must provide proof of insurance as required in the Venue Rental Contract.

24 Carrots will provide catering and bar service, staffing, any extra tables, chairs, lounge furniture, tableware, and linens.

ARE CANDLES ALLOWED?

Yes! Candles must be fully enclosed with 1” between the top of the flame and the candle holder. Any exposed flame, including sparklers, as well as fog machines, are prohibited. Candles and open flames are not permitted in guest rooms.

CAN GREENERY OR DÉCOR BE HUNG FROM THE BEAMS IN THE BALLROOM?

Yes! Décor or greenery may be hung with string, zip ties, or fishing wire only. Any materials that could leave a mark (i.e., staples, tape, nails, etc.) are not allowed.

The installer must provide all equipment and materials to perform their job. The Richland does not supply materials (i.e., ladders, zip ties, string, tape, etc.) or cleaning equipment (i.e., brooms, towels, trash containers, vacuums, etc.). The vendor is responsible for clearing all debris resulting from their setup; this includes sweeping, vacuuming, and hauling away their trash.

CAN I BRING MY PET?

AM I ALLOWED TO HAVE A WEDDING REHEARSAL?

Availability to have your wedding rehearsal at The Richland is not guaranteed, as your desired date for this may be booked for an event. Please contact your representative for more details.

WHEN DO I GET TO TASTE FOOD FOR MY EVENT?

Your menu tasting with 24 Carrots is sure to be a highlight of your planning process! We book complimentary private menu tastings for booked clients for (4) total attendees at the 24 Carrots headquarters Monday-Thursday between 11:00am and 3:30pm. If you are not yet booked and wish to have a tasting, the cost is $95 per person + tax.

I’M READY TO HOST MY EVENT AT THE RICHLAND! HOW DO I BOOK?

We are so honored! To officially book The Richland for your event, we require electronic signatures on your 24 Carrots Catering contract, The Richland Venue Rental Contract, and initial payment. 20% is due if booking more than 6 months out from your date, and 50% is due if booking less than 6 months out. Your representative will e-mail you a link to complete these electronic signatures and credit card payment.
